“Paços’ Premium” International Music Competition – 2021

Categories

 

A. Students up to age 22
Elimination Round
– One study or caprice among the methods Paganini, Wieniawski, Vieuxtemps or another of similar or higher difficulty.
– One piece (virtuous piece or one movement from sonata) of free choice, by solo or with piano accompaniment.
– One Portuguese piece (virtuous piece or one movement from sonata) of free choice, solo ou with piano accompaniment.
Final Round
– One movement from the Bach’s Partitas or Sonata, for violin solo.
– First movement of a Romantic or Modern Concerto with cadenza.

 

B. Students up to age 17
Elimination Round
– One study among the methods Kreutzer, Fiorillo, Dont or another of similar or higher difficulty.
– One virtuous piece with piano accompaniment.
Final Round
– One movement from Bach’s Partita or Sonata for Violin solo.
– One movement from the following Concertos: 3rd Mozart’s Violin Concerto in G Major, KV 216; Max Bruch’s Concerto in G minor or another of similar or higher difficulty.

 

C. Students up to age 14
Elimination Round
– One study among the methods: Mazas (brilliant studies), Kreutzer or another of similar or higher difficulty.
– One piece (piece or Sonata movement) of free choice, solo or with piano accompaniment.
Final Round
– 1st or 3rd movement from follow Concertos: J. S. Bach’s Concerto in A minor BWV 1041; Haydn’s Concerto in Sol major, Hob. VIIa:4; or another similar of more difficult Concerto or Concertant Piece.

 

D. Students up to age 11
Elimination Round
– One study among the methods: Kayser, Léonard, Wohlfahrt or another of similar or higher difficulty.
– One piece (piece or Sonata movement) of free choice, by solo or with piano accompaniment.
Final Round
– 1st or 3rd Concerto movement of free choice, or Concertant Piece of similar or higher difficulty.

 

E. Students up to age 9
Single Round
– Two contrasting pieces (piece, Concerto movement or Sonata movement) of free choice, with piano accompaniment.

 

F. Students up to age 7
Single Round
– Two contrasting pieces (piece, Concerto movement or Sonata movement) of free choice, with piano accompaniment.

 

THE FINAL ROUND AND SINGLE ROUND MUST BE PERFORMED BY MEMORY
